Amaro vs Pony Express at GCPC

As I was saying earlier, in the previous post: short one for today. But fear not – you’ll still get plenty to look at.

Amaro vs Pony Express was quite a game, and after a good match, Amaro walked away the victor with 11-9.

Best part for me: I had the pleasure of sitting next to Finn Secunda’s mom, Shannon. What a lovely, nice lady. Makes you realize why our Polo players are who they are: they come from good stock, being raised right, as my late Troy would have said.

So, great players on both teams, and let’s not forget our umpires Gaston Dorignac and Dale Schwetz. Yep – Dale umping instead of announcing. Y’all know him from guiding us through Grand Champions’ games with knowledge and some fine humor. We love you, Dale!

And of course, we love Gaston always, Stephanie, Tracey, Cale, Juan and the entire Polo family at GCPC. Staff and fans, it’s so much a family because of you as well. It takes more than an idea to pull off what Grand Champions has been doing, and I am extremely grateful for it.

Teams look promising, this should be good!

Sheesh – you’d think it was going to be snowing on that day

A little sword fight, as Dale would put it

Dale Schwetz with a special smile today

Finn Secunda, quite an accomplished young player

And again Finn Secunda, sovereign rider.

Finn and Michael. The nice thing about Polo: it’s always a friendly competition

Lilli on an exceptional horse. It’s so bright, you could call it “Neon”.

Ready and eager for another play

You know that the tail on the left belongs to an Umpire’s horse, right?

Going home. All of us.
